Services

Initial Equine Therapy Session

Your horse’s first appointment with Kaiti.

Please allow 1.5-2 hours for Initial Sessions. A generous appointment time allows for adequate analysis of presented information, and for Kaiti to meet your horse where they are in the present moment.

These appointments begin with discussion of your horse’s history, current workload, and lifestyle, as well as your goals for your partnership. Kaiti will make whole-body static (standing) and dynamic (in motion) observations of your horse’s habitual posture, movement, and musculoskeletal system, followed by an equine therapy session utilizing modalities appropriate for your horse’s needs.

Kaiti works primarily with myofascial and craniosacral therapy techniques, but also utilizes her skills in massage, movement techniques, red/infrared light therapy, and proprioceptive tools like kinesiology tape and balance pads. Please visit About Equine Therapy to learn more about Kaiti’s methods and qualifications.

Kaiti will discuss suggestions to build on the positive changes facilitated during the session, and form a plan with you for sessions going forward.

Referrals from other equine professionals are common, but not necessary. You will be given a digital form to complete prior to the appointment to aid in the information gathering process, and to determine if equine therapy is the appropriate choice for your horse at this time. Clearance from your veterinarian may be required in cases of illness or injury.

Equine Therapy Session with Horse by Free to Be Equine Services

Equine Therapy Session

After your horse has completed an Initial Session, any appointments following are Equine Therapy Sessions.

Please allow 60-75 minutes for subsequent Equine Therapy Sessions. These appointments begin with discussion and follow-up from the previous session, followed by an equine therapy session utilizing modalities appropriate for your horse’s needs.

Time between appointments varies with the needs of each horse and Kaiti will discuss this with you to establish an appropriate schedule. Horses on a consistent bodywork plan show the greatest improvement in their performance and well-being. Here is a blog post that explains why!

Horse and Owner Support Session

Acquire skills to support your horse’s wellness and integrate positive changes into their daily life by learning from Kaiti’s experience and expertise.

Support Sessions are meant to complement your horse’s bodywork by giving you personalized tools and techniques to work with your own horse between professional therapy sessions. Working with your own horse in this way will not only provide physical support for your equine partner, but strengthen your relationship as you learn to unwind stress and tension - together!

A single Support Session will provide you with exercises and activities to keep you busy - they are not meant to be scheduled regularly, nor are they meant to replace lessons from your coach/trainer. Please allow 2 hours for Support Sessions.

Support Sessions Include

  • Development of your eye to observe your horse’s habitual posture, movement, and tension patterns.

  • Learning a variety of manual and movement techniques specifically tailored to your horse’s unique needs.

  • Learning ways that you can gently unwind your horse’s tension patterns in a safe, gentle, and harm-free way yourself.

  • Discussion of your partnership goals with your horse, and how to formulate a plan to ensure its success.

  • Personalized digital guide provided after the session, so that you can recall what was discussed and demonstrated.
